As summer vacations approach, Bengaluru is witnessing a surge in passenger demand for rail travel. In response, the Indian Railways has introduced a series of Summer Special Trains aimed at facilitating travel between key locations.
Starting in April 2023, special trains will operate from both SMVT and Yeshvantpur stations in Bengaluru to various destinations in Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, and West Bengal. This initiative is designed to accommodate the increased number of travelers during the peak vacation period.
Among the newly introduced services, Train number 07153 operates weekly from Narsapur to SMVT Bengaluru until May 29, while Train number 07154 runs in the opposite direction from SMVT Bengaluru to Narsapur until May 30.
Additionally, Train numbers 06579/06580 and 06549/06550 are set to operate from Yeshvantpur and SMVT to Danapur throughout April. This will provide more options for passengers traveling to Bihar.
For those heading to Katihar, Train number 06571/06572 will run weekly from Yeshvantpur until July 14, ensuring connectivity for an extended period. Furthermore, Train number 06557 will operate from Yeshvantpur to Santragachi every Friday until April 24.
Passengers are encouraged to book their journeys in advance to secure seats, as the demand for these special trains is expected to be high. Reservations can be made through the IRCTC website or at reservation counters across the city.
The introduction of these special trains is a strategic move by Indian Railways to manage the influx of travelers during the summer vacation period, ensuring that families and individuals can travel conveniently to their desired destinations.
As the summer season progresses, the operational status of these trains will be closely monitored to adapt to any changes in passenger demand. This initiative not only enhances travel options but also supports the local economy by facilitating tourism and family visits during the holiday season.
