The introduction of a second attempt for MHT CET marks a significant change in the examination process, allowing 4,92,383 students more opportunities to improve their scores. The second attempt will begin on May 9, 2026, coinciding with the MBA/MMS CET for 53,931 candidates.
This year, the PCB group exam will take place on May 10 and 11, 2026, with 1,16,538 students expected to participate. Following that, the PCM group exam will run from May 12 to May 21, excluding May 16 and 17, with a total of 3,21,914 candidates.
In the first attempt of MHT CET this year, a total of 8,96,236 students registered. Out of those, 8,33,482 appeared for the exam — resulting in an impressive attendance rate of 92.99%. This marks the first time the CET Cell has introduced two attempts for these entrance exams.
Key details regarding the exams:
- The official release of the MHT CET 2026 Answer Key Session 1 is expected by May 2, 2026.
- Candidates can download the answer key and response sheet from cetcell.mahacet.org.
- A score of 100 marks is anticipated to correspond to a percentile range of around 88 to 92 for PCM and between 85 to 90 for PCB.
Officials have stated that appearing for at least one attempt is mandatory; however, taking both attempts is optional. Notably, if a candidate appears for both attempts — the higher percentile score will be considered for admission.
The CET Cell has officially confirmed that the MBA answer keys will be available on May 2. A score of 170 or higher is likely to place candidates in the top 0.1% of participants. The MHT CET percentile will be calculated based on how many candidates scored less than or equal to each participant divided by the total number of candidates in that session.
