The introduction of On-Screen Marking for the first time in CBSE Class 12 examinations aims to modernize the evaluation process and speed up result compilation. The results are expected to be released on May 10, 2026, following a consistent pattern established in previous years.
CBSE Class 12 board examinations for 2026 ran from February 17 to April 10, engaging a large number of students. In 2025, over 16.9 lakh students appeared for these examinations, achieving an overall pass percentage of 88.39%.
Key requirements for passing:
Students must score at least 33% marks in each theory paper. and A combined total of 33% is required across all subjects.
The On-Screen Marking system is a significant shift in how evaluations are conducted. Sanyam Bhardwaj stated that the process is functioning “perfectly” and remains firmly on schedule. This indicates strong confidence in the new digital marking system.
Bhardwaj also addressed concerns regarding potential disruptions in the digital evaluation system, asserting that reports suggesting issues are “far away from facts.” This reassures students and parents about the reliability of the new system.
Where to check results:
Students can access their results on the official website: results.cbse.nic.in .
The evaluation process began in a phased manner after the exams concluded, ensuring a thorough review of student performances. Observers expect this modern approach will not only expedite results but also enhance transparency in the grading process.
