26 candidates secured a perfect 100 NTA score in JEE (Main) 2026. This marks an increase from the 24 perfect scorers last year. Among these high achievers, one candidate belongs to the general-EWS category and one to OBC-NCL.
A total of 2,50,182 candidates qualified for JEE (Advanced), which is critical as this examination serves as the sole gateway to the prestigious Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). Notably, 96,873 candidates from the general category were among those who qualified.
This year also witnessed a significant participation rate. Overall, 16,04,854 unique candidates registered for JEE (Main) across both sessions, with 15,38,468 candidates actually appearing for the exam.
Despite the impressive numbers at the top end of the scoring spectrum, there was no female candidate who achieved a perfect score this year. The highest-scoring female candidate was Telangana’s Mallavarapu Aasna, who achieved a remarkable 99.998 percentile.
Aarush Singhal from Chandigarh emerged as the top scorer in JEE Main 2026 Session 2. His expected raw marks are between 295–300 out of 300.
The rise in perfect scores reflects increasing competition and preparation levels among students. The number of candidates scoring at the highest levels has shown an upward trend over recent years.
JEE Main is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), which has been instrumental in standardizing entrance exams across India.
Details remain unconfirmed regarding how these trends will influence future examinations or admissions processes.
