CBSE has adopted a new On-Screen Marking system for the first time in 2026, aiming to improve transparency and efficiency in the evaluation process. The CBSE Class 12 Result is expected to be declared on May 23, 2026, with over 18 lakh students eagerly awaiting their results.
The Class 12 board examinations began on February 17, 2026, and are scheduled to conclude in March. Students must achieve a minimum of 33% marks in each subject to pass the examination. Results will be available on cbse.gov.in, results.cbse.nic.in, DigiLocker, and the UMANG app.
CBSE has confirmed that the evaluation process is running smoothly and efficiently. Sanyam Bhardwaj addressed concerns about the evaluation, stating, “My evaluation is going very perfectly, better than the previous evaluation.” He emphasized that everything is proceeding as planned.
No press conference will be held to announce the results this year. This decision marks a departure from previous practices where such conferences were standard. Instead, students will receive their results through digital platforms.
Key points regarding the results:
- The expected declaration date is May 23, 2026.
- Over 18 lakh students are waiting for their results.
- A minimum of 33% marks is required to pass each subject.
Students should download and save a digital copy from DigiLocker after checking their results. They should also collect their original marksheet from their school once available and begin researching colleges for admission.
This year’s implementation of On-Screen Marking aims to streamline the grading process further and ensure fairness in evaluations. While officials have not confirmed all details regarding the result announcement, preparations are well underway.
