The Directorate General of Taxes (DJP) has extended the corporate tax reporting deadline to May 31, 2026, aiming to enhance taxpayer services amid ongoing improvements in their tax administration system.
Previously, the deadline for corporate taxpayers was set for April 30, 2026. This extension allows businesses an additional month to file their annual income tax returns.
Individual taxpayers will not see a change; their reporting deadline remains April 30, 2026. This distinction highlights DJP’s focus on supporting corporate entities during this transition.
The extension was directed by Finance Minister Purba Yudi Sadeva, reflecting a commitment to improving taxpayer experience. Bimo Vijayanto, the Director General of Taxes, emphasized that this decision is part of a broader initiative to enhance services.
DJP is currently upgrading its core tax administration system known as CoreTax. This modernization effort aims to streamline processes and improve efficiency in handling taxpayer inquiries.
During the reporting period, DJP will offer personal assistance to taxpayers every day from Monday to Sunday. This continuous support is designed to facilitate smoother compliance with tax obligations.
Bimo Vijayanto stated, “This extension is based on the need to improve services for taxpayers.” He further added, “We are committed to ensuring that this service is close to taxpayers and fully helps them.” These remarks underline DJP’s proactive approach in addressing taxpayer needs.
Overall, the decision to extend the reporting deadline represents a significant shift in how DJP interacts with corporate taxpayers. By providing more time and support, they aim to foster better compliance and satisfaction among businesses.
