Using: Fraud Case Involving Randico Company and Food Corporation of India: Accused Arrested False Claims

Fraud Case Involving Randico Company

In a significant development, the main accused in a fraud case involving over ₹10.11 Crore was arrested in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Himachal Pradesh. The individual allegedly cheated the Randico Company by misusing the name of the Food Corporation of India, leading to serious legal repercussions.

The immediate circumstances surrounding the arrest reveal a complex web of deceit, where the accused purportedly used the Food Corporation’s name to facilitate fraudulent transactions. This case has drawn considerable attention due to the substantial amount involved, which underscores the severity of the allegations against the accused.

Legal Developments and Trademark Issues

In a related legal matter, the Bombay High Court recently ruled that Tata Play can continue using the mark ‘Astro Duniya’. Justice Sharmila U Deshmukh rejected a plea for an interim injunction by Rajeev Prakash Agarwal, stating that the court found no prima facie case of trademark infringement or passing off against Tata Play.

Justice Deshmukh emphasized the distinctiveness of the mark, noting, “The distinctiveness of the present mark is in its innovative combination of the words in English ‘Astro’ and Hindi ‘Dunia’ along with the logo of a star.” However, she also remarked that the combination of the clipped version of the English word with the Hindi word does not make it inherently distinctive in the country.

Recent Wildlife Encounter

In a separate incident, an 18-year-old student named Pravesh Sharma encountered a leopard in a nearby area, which has recently witnessed leopard sightings and attacks. During the confrontation, which lasted over 10 minutes, Sharma managed to kill the leopard using stones after suffering several injuries. He was subsequently provided with immediate assistance amounting to ₹5,000.

The increasing frequency of leopard sightings in the region has raised concerns among local residents, highlighting the need for better wildlife management and public safety measures. As these incidents unfold, the community remains vigilant and calls for appropriate action to ensure safety from wildlife encounters.

As the investigations into the fraud case continue, authorities are expected to provide further updates. Meanwhile, details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional suspects or the full extent of the fraudulent activities involved in the case.
