UPSC Releases Marksheets for Civil Services Examination 2025

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has officially released the marksheets for the Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2025 on March 10, 2026. This announcement comes as a significant development for the thousands of candidates who participated in this highly competitive examination, which is crucial for recruitment into various civil services in India.

In total, 958 candidates have been recommended for appointment based on their performance in the examination cycle. The final merit ranking for these candidates is determined by their combined scores from the Mains Examination and the Personality Test, which together account for a total of 2025 marks. The Mains Examination carries a maximum of 1750 marks, while the Personality Test contributes an additional 275 marks.

Among the successful candidates, Anuj Agnihotri has emerged as the top performer, securing the All India Rank 1 (AIR 1) in the UPSC CSE 2025. Agnihotri achieved an impressive score of 867 marks in the Written Examination and 204 marks in the Personality Test, culminating in a total of 1071 marks. His choice of Medical Science as the optional subject for the Mains examination has been noted as a strategic decision that contributed to his success.

The publication of the marksheets is a testament to the transparent recruitment process upheld by the UPSC, allowing aspirants to analyze the performance of successful candidates. Notably, top candidates scored above 820 marks in the written examination, with interview marks ranging between 187 and 215. This data provides valuable insights for future candidates preparing for the examination.

It is important to note that the written examination marks are not counted in the final merit ranking for the Preliminary Examination. This aspect of the evaluation process has been a point of discussion among candidates and educators alike, as it emphasizes the significance of the Personality Test in determining the final rankings.

The UPSC Civil Services Examination is one of India’s most prestigious tests, aimed at selecting candidates for diverse civil services roles, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). The rigorous nature of this examination underscores the importance of preparation and strategy for aspirants.

As the results are analyzed, reactions from the candidates and educational institutions are expected to emerge, reflecting on the competitive nature of the examination and the achievements of the top scorers. The marksheet not only serves as a record of individual performance but also as a benchmark for future aspirants aiming to excel in this challenging examination.
