Myles Lewis-Skelly, a left-back from Arsenal, has reportedly been offered to both Chelsea and Manchester United. However, both clubs have reportedly declined the opportunity to sign the teenager.
An intermediary associated with Lewis-Skelly contacted both Manchester United and Chelsea regarding a potential transfer. Despite this, reports indicate that neither club intends to pursue the move at this time. One report suggests that Manchester United considers the player’s valuation to be too high.
Lewis-Skelly’s Future and Club Interest
Lewis-Skelly, who is 19 years old, won the Premier League with Arsenal last season. He made five league starts and a total of 36 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-26 season. The player signed a five-year contract last summer, and his prospective price is reportedly in the region of £45m. Despite the interest from other clubs, Lewis-Skelly is said to be focused on remaining at Arsenal and establishing himself in Mikel Arteta‘s first-team plans for the upcoming season.
Manchester United is reportedly in the market for a left-back and has been linked with several other players in that position. These include Lewis Hall, David Raum, Antonee Robinson, and Jorge Salinas. According to one Spanish outlet, Manchester United is willing to pay the £14m release clause for Racing Santander left-back Jorge Salinas. Barcelona is also reportedly interested in Salinas but is currently unwilling to meet his release clause. Atlético Madrid is also monitoring Salinas.
Chelsea has also been active in the transfer market, reportedly spending over £300m on new signings this summer. The club is set to announce the signing of Pep Chavarria, a 28-year-old Spanish left-back from Rayo Vallecano. Talks for Chavarria have been ongoing since late June, with Chelsea reportedly agreeing to a deal worth an initial £16.2m plus a further £1.7m in add-ons, despite his release clause being £42.5m. Chelsea reportedly has a gap on the left side of their defence following Marc Cucurella‘s £52m move to Real Madrid.

In other transfer news, Newcastle is exploring a move for Benfica right-back Amar Dedic. Aston Villa has reportedly reached a verbal agreement to sign Matteo Ruggeri from Atletico Madrid.
