The SSC GD Constable 2026 exam has been postponed, significantly impacting over 25,000 candidates who were preparing for the test originally scheduled to start on February 23, 2026. The new dates for the examination will now take place in four distinct phases from April 27 to May 30, 2026.

Candidates will have the opportunity to select their preferred exam week between April 11 and April 15, 2026. This change allows for better preparation time, but it also introduces uncertainty as candidates must now adjust their study schedules accordingly.

The SSC GD Constable exam consists of objective-type questions covering various subjects, including General Intelligence, General Knowledge, Elementary Mathematics, and English or Hindi. This comprehensive format is designed to assess the candidates’ overall aptitude and readiness for the role.

Admit cards for the examination will be released approximately 3 to 5 days before the exam date, while the city intimation slips will be available 7 to 10 days prior. Candidates will be able to self-book their exam slots, although they will not have the option to choose the exact date or city.

The examination will be conducted across multiple centers nationwide, ensuring accessibility for all candidates. It will be held in multiple shifts: Morning, Afternoon, and Evening, to accommodate the large number of participants.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the exact new exam date and specific details about the exam pattern and shift timings for 2026. As the SSC GD Constable examination continues to attract significant interest among aspirants, the adjustments to the schedule have heightened anticipation and concern among candidates.
