This year, a total of 12,86,220 students appeared for the Class 8 examination, marking a significant participation rate across Rajasthan.
In a positive development, 12,45,735 students successfully passed the Class 8 examination, resulting in a commendable pass percentage of 97.01%. This figure represents an improvement of 0.35% from the previous year, showcasing the effectiveness of educational initiatives and support systems in place for students.
The Class 8 examination was conducted at 10,056 centres, ensuring accessibility for students across the state. Notably, the pass percentage for boys stood at 96.52%, while girls achieved a higher pass percentage of 97.57%, indicating a positive trend in female academic performance.
Despite the overall success, a total of 38,276 students were placed in the supplementary category for Class 8. These students will have the opportunity to re-examine, as they must secure at least 33% marks in each subject to qualify. A grade of ‘D’ or above is considered a pass for Class 8 students, which underscores the importance of meeting minimum standards for academic progression.
The results of the Class 5 examination in 2026 also reflect a strong performance, with a pass percentage of 97.75% and 13,68,947 students participating. This parallel success in earlier grades suggests a consistent trend of academic achievement within the Rajasthan education system.
Officials have expressed optimism regarding the upward trajectory of student performance in the state. They attribute this success to various educational reforms and enhanced support mechanisms aimed at improving learning outcomes for students.
As the educational landscape continues to evolve, stakeholders are keenly observing the implications of these results for future academic policies and initiatives aimed at sustaining and enhancing student performance across all grades.
