On November 2, 2023, the Department of Personnel and Training, the Capacity Building Commission, and Karmayogi Bharat will kick off a week-long Sadhna Saptah in New Delhi. This initiative is part of the broader Mission Karmayogi, which was launched in 2020 to enhance the capacity, performance, and efficiency of civil servants across India.
The Sadhna Saptah aims to strengthen the culture of capacity building among civil servants, offering diverse learning opportunities for skill enhancement and self-development. The initiative is structured around three guiding principles: Technology, Tradition, and Tangible Outcomes.
As part of this initiative, the government has introduced a dedicated capacity-building program for scientists and academicians under Mission Karmayogi. This program addresses a long-standing gap where professionals from scientific and academic backgrounds often transition into leadership positions without formal exposure to governance, budgeting, and administrative decision-making.
