JioStar Takes Action Against Digital Piracy on TATA IPL 2026 Opening Day

“As the TATA IPL continues to scale up in unprecedented ways, our push is to assemble legends and heavyweights of the league together in our studios in a way that will offer a unique insider’s perspective to fans,” said Siddharth Sharma, a key figure at JioStar.

This statement came on the same day that JioStar dismantled a large-scale digital piracy syndicate operating under the name BOS IPTV, coinciding with the kickoff of TATA IPL 2026 in Mumbai, India.

The unauthorized IPTV service had been offering access to over 10,000 linear channels and a library of more than 25,000 video-on-demand titles. The operation reportedly had around 64,000 active subscribers and was run by a group of 20 individuals.

In response to the illegal activities, JioStar filed a criminal complaint at the Cyber Police Station in Firozabad, Uttar Pradesh. An FIR (No. 0005 dated 26 March 2026) was registered under multiple sections of Indian law, highlighting the seriousness of the infringement.

As a result of these actions, the website bostv.org, associated with the BOS IPTV service, has been taken down by its operators.

In a proactive move, JioStar also announced its presentation for the 2026 TATA IPL season, featuring over 150 presenters and experts. This initiative aims to enhance the viewing experience for fans, offering them 12 language options for the tournament.

The 19th edition of TATA IPL showcases players from three different generations, further enriching the tournament’s legacy.

JioStar remains committed to safeguarding its content ecosystem and ensuring a fair viewing experience by taking decisive action against piracy.
