The launch of the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Apex marks a significant advancement in the motorcycle market, offering enhanced performance and features that cater to modern riders. Starting at Rs 2.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), this new model is poised to attract a wide range of enthusiasts.
The Guerrilla 450 Apex is equipped with a robust 452cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, generating 40hp and 40Nm of torque. This powertrain is complemented by sportier ergonomics, featuring an aluminium handlebar that is positioned 56mm lower and 57mm farther forward than its predecessor, improving rider control and comfort.
In terms of traction, the Apex variant boasts road-focused Vredestein tyres, which contribute to an 8% improvement in dry grip and a remarkable 17% enhancement in wet grip. These upgrades are expected to significantly improve handling and safety in various riding conditions.
The Guerrilla 450 Apex is available in three striking colors: red, black, and green, appealing to a diverse audience of motorcycle enthusiasts. Additionally, the model includes a removable rear-seat cowl, allowing for versatility in design and functionality.
Royal Enfield has also updated its app to provide riders with more information and ride data, enhancing the overall riding experience. The bike features a Tripper Dash with Google Maps navigation and smartphone connectivity, ensuring that riders stay connected while on the road.
While the Guerrilla 450 Apex is generating excitement, it is important to note that the standard Guerrilla model has also seen improvements, with enhanced tyres contributing to better grip performance.
However, the introduction of the Apex variant comes with the discontinuation of the Dash variant, indicating a strategic shift in Royal Enfield’s product lineup. The Guerrilla 450 range is now priced between Rs 2.49 lakh and Rs 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Chennai), reflecting the brand’s commitment to offering competitive pricing in the market.
As the motorcycle industry continues to evolve, Royal Enfield’s latest offering is expected to set a new benchmark in the segment. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the long-term impact of these changes on the brand’s market position.
