The 2026 Formula 1 season begins on March 7, 2026, marking a new broadcasting era for F1 in the U.S. Fans will now have access to F1 TV Premium exclusively through Apple TV at no additional cost for subscribers.
Apple TV subscribers can enjoy comprehensive coverage of the season, including all practice, qualifying, and Sprint sessions, along with races. The platform will also feature a Multiview experience, allowing viewers to watch up to four live feeds simultaneously.
Enhanced Viewing Experience
In addition to the primary race coverage, F1 TV will provide English and Spanish commentary, as well as access to up to 30 additional live feeds across all sessions. For U.S. fans, Apple Music will also feature free live audio broadcasts of the races.
This new partnership comes as Formula 1 continues to expand its reach in the U.S. market. Eddy Cue, a senior executive at Apple, stated, “This weekend marks the start of a new era for Formula 1 fans in the U.S.”
Collaborations and Additional Content
Apple is collaborating with Tubi to offer exclusive live F1 altcasts for multiple races during the 2026 season. Furthermore, the popular series “Formula 1: Drive to Survive” will be available for streaming on both Netflix and Apple TV in the U.S.
Stefano Domenicali, CEO of Formula 1, remarked, “We have an important journey ahead of us, one we’ll share in a country where the passion for F1 continues to grow with extraordinary energy.” This sentiment reflects the increasing interest in Formula 1 within the U.S. audience.
IMAX Theaters and Accessibility
In a further effort to engage fans, select Grands Prix will be shown in IMAX theaters across the U.S. during the 2026 season, enhancing the live experience. Additionally, DIRECTV customers will have access to Apple TV’s live sports programming, including F1.
Apple TV is available for $12.99 per month, with a seven-day free trial for new subscribers, making it accessible for a broader audience. Eligible customers purchasing new devices can also enjoy three months of free Apple TV.
As the new season approaches, observers are keen to see how these developments will impact viewership and engagement with Formula 1 in the U.S. market.
