CBSE 12th Result 2026: Updates on Class 10 Board Exam Procedures

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a notice regarding the second Class 10 Board Exam 2026, which is set to take place on March 31, 2026. This announcement outlines the procedures for the submission of the List of Candidates (LOC) for the examination.

The LOC submission process is divided into three distinct phases. In Phase 1, schools will fill in the LOC without requiring any fee payment. Phases 2 and 3 will allow students to submit, alter, drop, or add subjects while also paying the requisite examination fee.

Importantly, if a student chooses not to appear for the second board exam after submitting the LOC and paying the exam fee, their performance in the main examination will be used to declare their result. This provision aims to ensure that students are not penalized for their decisions regarding participation in the second exam.

However, some schools have reportedly begun demanding three months’ tuition fees from students at the time of submitting the LOC for the second board examination. This practice is a violation of CBSE rules, which strictly prohibit schools from collecting unauthorized fees.

According to the CBSE guidelines, schools should refrain from collecting any additional fees related to the LOC submission. The only permissible fee is the examination fee as stipulated in the LOC circular.

Schools are directed to adhere strictly to CBSE regulations and discontinue any activities that violate these rules. This directive is part of CBSE’s ongoing efforts to maintain fairness and transparency in the examination process.

As the examination date approaches, schools and students alike are urged to comply with the established guidelines to avoid any complications. The CBSE aims to ensure a smooth examination experience for all students.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the overall impact of these regulations on student participation rates in the upcoming board exams. However, the CBSE’s commitment to upholding its rules remains clear.
