Today Share Market: Trading Halted for Ram Navami

“Trading activity is set to remain truncated in the coming days, with exchanges scheduled to be shut for two of the next eight days due to a series of holidays,” a market analyst noted.

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) and the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) are closed today, March 26, 2026, in observance of Ram Navami. Trading will resume on March 27, allowing investors to react to any developments that may arise during the holiday.

In addition to the NSE and BSE, the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) will be closed for the morning session but will reopen for trading in the evening. Conversely, the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) will remain closed for both sessions today.

As the stock market prepares for this holiday, it is noteworthy that there are a total of 16 stock market holidays scheduled for 2026. The next holiday after today will occur on March 31 for Mahavir Jayanti.

The Nifty index closed at 23,306.45 and the Sensex at 75,273.45 on March 25, 2026, marking gains for the second consecutive session before the market break.

“There will be no trading activity across segments on both exchanges for the day,” an official statement confirmed.

Investors are advised to closely track global cues and oil price movements when markets reopen on Friday, as these factors could significantly influence trading decisions.

The market calendar shows two shortened weeks ahead, which may affect trading volumes and investor sentiment.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any immediate market reactions expected upon reopening.
