Kuwait Confirms Interception of Hostile Attacks Amid Ongoing Regional Tensions

Kuwait has confirmed its air defences are intercepting hostile missile and drone attacks as of March 25, 2026. This development follows a drone attack that ignited a fuel tank at Kuwait International Airport, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.

In response to the ongoing conflict, seven overhead power lines have been taken out of service due to debris from intercepted projectiles. The situation is part of Iran’s retaliatory actions against Gulf Arab nations amidst the broader US-Israeli war, which has resulted in a death toll of 1,039 and 2,876 injuries in Lebanon from Israeli strikes.

Amid these tensions, the Lulu Group has airlifted 50 tonnes of fresh vegetables from Kochi to Kuwait, utilizing a special flight operated by Kuwait Airways. The aircraft arrived without passengers, ensuring that essential supplies continue to reach the market.

Yusuffali M. A., a prominent figure in the Lulu Group, assured consumers that there will be no price increase for vegetables in their stores, stating, “There will be no price increase and that sufficient stocks are available across all Lulu stores.” This statement aims to alleviate concerns over potential supply shortages due to the ongoing conflict.

The conflict’s consequences are affecting countries beyond frontline states, highlighting the interconnected nature of regional stability. As tensions rise, Kuwait’s proactive measures in air defence and supply chain management are critical in maintaining its infrastructure and public safety.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the full extent of the damage caused by the drone attacks and the ongoing military actions in the region. However, the situation continues to evolve, with Kuwait on high alert to protect its airspace and citizens.
