RCB Tickets 2026: Fans Frustrated as IPL Opener Sells Out in Minutes

Tickets for the IPL 2026 opener between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Sunrisers Hyderabad went live at 4 pm on March 24, 2026, but were sold out within minutes, leaving fans frustrated and disappointed.

The opening match is scheduled for March 28, 2026, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, which has a seating capacity of approximately 40,000. Ticket prices ranged from Rs 3,750 to Rs 47,000, making it accessible to a wide range of fans.

Despite the availability of tickets, many fans reported difficulties in securing their seats. Complaints surfaced regarding the potential pre-allocation of tickets to VVIPs and black market resales, raising concerns about the fairness of the ticketing process.

One anonymous fan expressed frustration, stating, “What’s the point of opening the RCB ticket sale when there are literally no seats available for fans to book?” Another fan recounted their experience, saying, “I logged in right at 4 pm, the sale started at 4:01 pm, and this is what I see. This always happens, and I’m seriously tired of this.”

In an effort to honor the victims of a tragic stampede during RCB’s title celebrations in June 2025, the franchise reserved 11 tickets for every home game as a tribute.

Fans also noted that tickets were available exclusively through the official RCB website and app, which further complicated the purchasing process. Many were left empty-handed, with one fan lamenting, “I tried to book N-stand tickets worth Rs 25,000 – it showed only one seat, and that too already taken.”

The M Chinnaswamy Stadium had previously been barred from staging competitive fixtures following the aforementioned stampede, which has heightened the anticipation for this match.

As the ticketing situation unfolds, details remain unconfirmed regarding the possibility of additional ticket releases or a dynamic pricing model. Concerns about ticket availability and pricing discrepancies remain unaddressed.

Fans are eagerly awaiting further announcements from RCB, hoping for clarity and improved access to tickets for future matches.
