Hyderabad and its surrounding districts are bracing for showers and thunderstorms, as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for the coming days. This weather event is expected to bring relief from the rising temperatures that have been prevalent in the region.
According to the IMD, light to moderate showers and thunderstorm activity are anticipated across several districts, including Hyderabad, over the next few days. Despite the forecast, Hyderabad largely remained dry throughout most of the day, while thunderstorms affected nearby areas.
The IMD has issued a thunderstorm alert for 14 districts in Telangana, warning of lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 50 km/h. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places, including Hyderabad.
Rainfall activity is expected to persist in parts of the state until Friday evening, with the maximum and minimum temperatures in Hyderabad projected to be around 32°C and 21°C, respectively. This represents a slight temperature drop of 3-4°C due to the incoming weather system.
As strong storm systems move across north and east Telangana, Hyderabad has seen limited impact thus far. However, the rain has brought some relief from the rising temperatures, although it has also raised concerns among residents regarding potential disruptions.
“Hyderabad and surrounding areas for the next 24 hours will see a partly cloudy sky,” an IMD spokesperson noted. This forecast suggests that while rain may be on the horizon, there will also be intervals of clearer weather.
The current weather situation is part of a larger pattern affecting several parts of India, where widespread rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds have been reported. This major weather system is impacting various regions, leading to heightened alerts and preparations.
As the situation develops, residents are advised to stay informed about the weather conditions and heed any warnings issued by local authorities. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the extent of the impact on daily activities in Hyderabad.
