Reports indicate that papers were circulated on social media shortly after the exam began in Nizamabad, leading to the suspension of nine officials. An invigilator reportedly took a photograph of the question paper and shared it approximately 30 minutes after the exam commenced.
Dr. E. Naveen Nicolas, a spokesperson, stated, “This was not really a paper leak. It was an invigilator who took a photograph of the question paper and circulated it around 12.30 pm.” This incident has raised serious concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process.
Teachers’ unions, including the Telangana State United Teachers’ Federation, have expressed their worries about the pressure on staff due to such incidents. Chava Ravi, a union representative, emphasized the need for district authorities to instill confidence in invigilators to perform their duties without fear while ensuring strict oversight.
Parents of students are increasingly anxious, fearing that their children may have to retake the exam due to the incident. Venkat Sainath, an education analyst, warned, “If a violation of this scale is confirmed, students may have to face the burden of writing the paper again.”
Similar paper leak incidents have plagued the SSC exams in previous years, including notable occurrences in 2018, 2023, and 2025, indicating a troubling trend in exam security.
