NEET 2026 Registration: Important Dates and Fees Announced

NEET 2026 Registration Details Announced

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced the registration details for the NEET UG 2026 exam. The registration window will close on March 8, 2026, at 9 PM, marking a crucial deadline for aspiring medical students.

In addition to the registration deadline, candidates must ensure that their fee payments are completed by 11:50 PM on the same day. This is an essential step for all applicants to secure their participation in the examination.

Following the registration phase, an application correction window will be available from March 10 to March 12, 2026. This allows candidates to make necessary adjustments to their applications before the exam.

The NEET UG 2026 exam is scheduled to take place on May 3, 2026, from 2 PM to 5 PM. This timing is critical for candidates as they prepare for one of the most competitive medical entrance exams in India.

Regarding application fees, the costs vary based on the candidate’s category. For those in the general category, the fee is set at Rs 1700 for exam centres located in India. Meanwhile, General-EWS and OBC-NCL candidates will pay Rs 1600 in India and Rs 9500 for centres outside the country.

For SC, ST, PwBD, and third gender candidates, the application fee is Rs 1000 for centres within India. These fee structures reflect the NTA’s efforts to accommodate a diverse range of applicants.

The number of students applying for NEET UG has seen a significant increase over the years, rising from over 15 lakh in 2019 to approximately 25 lakh candidates now. This trend underscores the growing interest in medical education among students in India.

As the registration deadline approaches, candidates are encouraged to prepare their applications carefully and ensure all documentation is in order. The NTA has emphasized the importance of adhering to these deadlines to facilitate a smooth examination process.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any potential changes to the examination format or additional guidelines for candidates. It is advisable for applicants to stay updated through official NTA announcements.
